About this deal

I really enjoy the original Mercedes Benz fragrance, as it smells like Dior 'Aqua Fahrenheit' or a fresh version of 'Fahrenheit', and has good performance. When I saw 'Le Parfum', I immediately grabbed it and from the initial spray I can tell you its about 95-97% Dior 'Fahrenheit', but much stronger, and a little less of the gasoline or motor oil note that 'Fahrenheit' is known for. It's still there, but just slightly toned down.

So like I always do, when they Zig, I Zag! & I went into looking at the Le Parfum version. & WOW! so pleasantly surprised!

This 21st century fragrance for a modern man is already making a statement. Mercedes-Benz Style Le Parfum (120 ml) The citrus, the cascalone, and the violet leaf combine to give this a green clean and watery smell. There is a bit of pink pepper, but not too much. The longevity on me seems to hit the 7-8 hour mark, before quitting. Usually, it will get past that half hour mark but not too much further. It’s not spectacular, but still quite good and no real complaints with performance from me.

Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication. Yet, Le Parfum starts off very much doing its own thing and I enjoy it on its own, apart from being a potential ‘clone’.

Drug Interactions

Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS. As it moves further along, saffron and oud will help to produce that leathery aroma, that compares favorably to the Tom Ford scents. They’re not exactly the same, but sure, a close relation to how they smell.

Most of my collection actually comes from blind buying. Many of the fragrances simply don't give you the opportunity to try them out on the market. Also not in duty-free at the airport. There you will find mainly only the current mainstream (with a few exceptions).

Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number). Seasonally, I like this one autumn through springtime. Sure, it works in the colder weather, but I actually like it when it’s sort of mild outside. That watery note makes it interesting to me, in that kind of climate. Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.

This was a Mercedes fragrance that I was expecting to like a lot, due to comparisons with Ombre Leather by Tom Ford. Sure, that’s totally there, but it’s closer to the Parfum version. The oud is pretty strong here, but it completely comes across as leathery versus what you might be used to. So, it’s a cascalone infused leathery cologne, with the remaining violet leaf still poking around. This one has a solid hour or so, where it is what you could consider the lower range of ‘strong’. It’ll project in that 6-7 foot range, slowly creeping in closer, until it’s about 3-4 feet from the skin. Which will take place, sometime between hour 2 and 3. Within that climate, this one can be worn in a wide variety of circumstances. It’s not too ‘serious’, but it does have some refinement. You can wear it out at night, semi-formally, and younger guys can even give this one a go.

Mercedes-Benz Style's Le Parfum proves that not all good parfums break the bank. It has been available in shops since 2015. Fragrances are sorted according to the concentration of essential oils they contain. Eaux de parfum, such as this one, generally have between 15-20%. This lasts all day long with just a few dabs. Due to this, they also tend to be the most expensive to buy. A Symphony for the Nose Opening this perfume is a head of bergamot and pink pepper. Next heart notes of violet leaves, saffron and galbanum move in. The journey is completed by a base of amber, vetiver, woodsy notes and patchouli.
