I need to mention too that, despite it being a reasonably compact machine, I do think the console could have been a little more expansive. Besides the fact it’s a little dated in terms of looks, I do feel like it needed to have been stretched out just a little more. I see no reason why an extra program or a slightly bigger screen couldn’t have been included and still stayed a pretty low price. Because of the features available I actually think they’ve under priced this machine, and so could have afforded to go up a notch and create something slightly better with the same success and demographic met. MUTE AND SAFE: The gym bike uses an internal magnetically controlled flywheel, which is more robust and mute, producing only 20 decibels of sound.Compared with ordinary exercise bikes, the magnetic control body-building bicycle is small in wear and uniform in force, and the resistance is controlled by the magnetic control wheel, so that the body-building is achieved, and the joint is not hurt. Some people swear by padded gel saddles – as the default on even upper end exercise bikes can be hard on the behind! I would also recommend a rubber mat. These are inexpensive and can save wear on your carpets or hardwood floors. Setup for the GB40s was simple using Reebok’s handy numbered guide, if you were putting this together by yourself then I think it would take around 90 minutes to put together from box to final product. Assembly is pretty much as you’d expect from a Reebok machine and took less than 40 minutes to complete the build. The screen is bright and easy-to-read and the basic data is easy to see. There are 4 workout options (based on time, distance, calories and manual) to choose from. Three of these are based on a metric that the computer can calculate and are target based. eg Set your workout to last for 15 minutes, and the computer will count down 15 minutes. Set your target for calorie burn, and the computer will calculate theoretical calorie burn based on RPM, distance, speed and time elapsed and you stop pedalling when you reach your target. Of course, this is very limited in nature but nevertheless, it does do a job. The reason for this limitation is that the GB40 features a manual resistance system rather than a one that’s computer-controlled. You can choose from various types of different workouts as there are 32 different levels of resistance available so you can gradually increase the intensity overtime. The console has all the main functions that you would expect including the speeds, distances, times, pulse rate and calories used.There are 8 levels of manual resistance to work through depending on how hard you want to work and both the saddle seat and handlebars are adjustable to suit your individual needs. Please note that the saddle height can be adjusted from between 66cm up to 90cm. Similar to the Jet100 above, this time we have reviewed the Jet100S which is slightly different in terms of features it can offer but the price tends to be considerably lower also making it a lot more attractive for many buyers. The flywheel here is 6kg in weight, there are the self-level pedals and it can handle a maximum user weight of 120kg. It is fairly early days since the ZR8 Bike was replaced, so I do recommend you take a moment to scan through the more recent comments for yourself.
