The Hive2 sounds flat and kind of muddy - there is more treble coming from the original Hive and the range is somehow more rounded and realistic.

If you try and charge the speaker *while* it's cable connected to your device you get massive interference from the power source (bad design: they're right next to each other) making it unlistenable to. Featuring a powerful digital amplifier and two active speaker drivers, the Hive delivers controlled powerful and clear midrange and treble resulting is an outstanding sound quality from such a small speaker. The aux socket is a welcome addition for devices that don't have Bluetooth, or for quick playback from a friends phone for example. Aptly named, the Kitsound Hive features a unique honeycomb style design which not only looks smart but add's durability to its sturdy design, allowing the Hive will withstand the occasional knock much better than other speakers and, like all KitSound products, it's been built to last. It's extremely easy to use - one of those rare gadgets where the instruction book is really unnecessary.I personally have on of the older (and larger) models provided by KitSound and found it to be a fantastic product.
