As an active avoid-war-stories-my-emotions-can't-cope kind of reader this certainly isn't my usual reading material, and yet the idea of a hotel and all its hard working staff was gently appealing.

As publication date approaches for my new novel, The Ballroom Blitz, I’m delighted to let you know that I’ll be appearing at a marvellous selection of literary events over the coming weeks to talk all about it! That said, I’m sure she won’t mind me saying (given last week’s 13 points) that I think we may be in need of your votes this weekend! From the glamour of the ballroom with Archie Adam’s music playing for all the guests to enjoy, whilst watching the enchanting seasoned dancers of the Buckingham Hotel waltz away, versus the harsh juxtaposition of outside the hotel doors, where the war ridden streets of London awaits full of looters, air raid sirens, bombs and last but especially not least the brave volunteers for the war effort. Unfortunately I was only able to give this book 3 stars because it was edited so badly that I almost couldn't read it.

It took a little while to familiarise myself with the characters as there are a number and I had not read the earlier books in the Buckingham Hotel series. Huge apologies – I’m so sorry to be the bearer of such news, I know we’ve all been looking forward to the tour so much!

Our brand new tour, Showtime, gets a big plug – and the trailer video is just fabulous – dates are now booking for 2022, postponed of course from last year. They all have issues and most of the story involved everything from profiteering to mental health problems, poor family relationships and greed.
