Just because a lot of us feel like saying "f*** it", it doesn’t mean we aren’t also trying our best to stay afloat, swimming against the tide, rather than succumbing to drowning in our own whimsies. I didn’t necessarily learn anything about the industry that I didn’t already know but maybe that’s because I’ve always been curious about it and maybe because I already follow oenone quite closely but there’s a few things in there where I was shocked to learn about her personal!
Through the writing process, she was “very conscious” about making sure she wasn’t “overly generous with super personal details,” but also carefully considered what she “was happy” and comfortable “with sharing. Such a fascinating insight into building a career through influencing and how hard it can be and how different it is from what you imagine from just following influencers lives on Instagram. It helped that I was now in full-time employment and my employer was really understanding of my situation so I was able to fully recover. Its a chance to feel a part of something bigger than yourself whilst simultaneously giving you the freedom to be yourself.
