About this deal

It’s relatively easy to clean. This is important, as it needs cleaning regularly to stay in top condition. We have using this machine now for 6 months and we have come love coffee again. I did a lot of research into the different machines and I am so happy with this choice. The machine is small so it does not take over my workspace. So easy to use and to clean. You will need to read through the instruction book carefully and it did take a few weeks for me to understand the machine fully but this paid off as you can set the machine to your favourite strength. We love it so much that it event came camping with us. We no longer buy coffee on the go but just invested in better take out cups as we prefer our own coffee and we can control the calories going into the cup. I would so recommend this machine and we are even going to treat both our kids to one of these coffee machines. It's an Ulka Model E Type EP5GW. Not the exact one, but as close as I could get. (The 'G' stands for Gaggia apparently) Use the Optiaroma function to set the quantity of ground coffee used. It is possible to select among 3 different settings: light, medium, strong. Press the button; the new setting will be saved with the first espresso brewing.

If you were wanting to compare the Brera to one of the ECAM one touch machines, I don't think that's a fair comparison. If you were wanting a one touch bean to cup coffee machine such as De'Longhi Eletta ECAM 44.660, you'd really need to compare this to one of Gaggia's one touch machines such as the Anima Prestige, or Accademia. We like the Gaggia Brera. The quality of the espresso it produced couldn’t quite match that of the best manual espresso machines, but it was close. It’s also a compact and good-looking machine, and there’s nothing like a beans-to-cup machine when it comes to cutting down on mess. If you’re after the ultimate in coffee convenience, it’s a good buy. We think that this super automatic machine is incredibly good value for money, especially when compared to more expensive models that offer fewer features (e.g., no steam wand). It’s certainly an investment when compared to entry-level budget options, but don’t forget that this is not just a basic espresso machine. It includes a ceramic burr grinder and allows you to make different types of coffee, including americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes.I have plenty of depth to play with on my kitchen worktops, but there's a real struggle for horizontal space, and also vertical space due to the cupboards above, so I found the Brera to be a slightly better fit in terms of space for my kitchen.

Bad news: it is hard to find espresso machines with a built-in grinder that are also versatile, good value for money, and let you enjoy delicious espresso shots as well as frothy milk-based drinks. Release remaining steam through steam wand purge water through steam arm by pressing the coffee button while the steam wand is still open. Then close steam knob and run water through brew head. To be honest, I found the steam wand to be a little on the flimsy side. Plus, it isn’t mounted on a ball joint, so it isn’t terribly versatile. Easy to use, great product Gaggia did it again. As a bean to cup the coffee is not as it would be with a regular coffee machine but it is well close to that. Cleaning and maintenance is also very easy. If you like a good espresso at home without all the hassle (and expense) of using a traditional espresso machine, you could probably do with a bean to cup machine, like the Gaggia Brera Automatic. It will enable you to have barista style coffee at the touch of a button. We have provided as much help as possible for Gaggia machine users, with videos, podcasts and answers to FAQs. Dissolve contents in 1 1/2 litres of water, pour it into the water tank and open the steam pipe knob to extract water through steam pipe by pressing the COFFEE button. Collect about half a cup of water through the steam pipe. Switch off the machine for 10 minutes and repeat the procedure once more. Again, switch off the machine for a further 8-10 minutes. Now switch on the machine and this time run the water through the brew head by pressing the COFFEE button. This time do not open the steam wand. This allows the water to come through the brewhead, similar to dispensing coffee.
