About this deal

There are advanced splitters that can control the EDID codes, but of course the delivered audio and video has to be downgraded to the lowest format that both sources support. Sometimes the IPTV channels work, but sometimes they don't. Again, I don't know why as it's not a network issue. (iPlayer still loads) Interesting result, though as you know with my device it happens with power saving set to off. We do have very good signal, 100% quality with strength around 85%.

I have asked Humax about this problem and have received replies from two customer service employees. I then went through the tedious task of watching Saturday morning TV via the TVs tuner waiting for the Humax to wake up. Bang on cue at 15 minutes before the programme was set to record a result. This time the TV did not go blank but instead there was momentary picture break-up, freezing and pixilation. The DLNA client doesn't show up by default. You have to load the humax portal and then quit it before the network option appears listed.Device works flawlessly using a splitter. The fault if it is correct to call it that has to be with the loop-through side of the 2T as it's present when no connection by HDMI is present. I wish you well, but basically Humax released a box that was incredibly buggy, and even a couple of firmware updates haven't sorted all the major issues with it. Once the 2000T released the connection the TVs own tuner would take over again and we could continue watching the programme.

I used mine with an HDMI splitter, and everytime you switched on the tv the audio on the 2000T had gone until the box was rebooted. The hdmi splitter I have worked perfectly with my Humax HB1000S and a Humax HD Fox T2 together on both a Samsung tv, and (for experimental purposes) on a Panasonic tv. I have also used my Humax Foxsat HDR with this hdmi splitter without any issues. If you want to send digital audio to a device that is likely to universally understand the codec used to compress the audio, you should use a proper AV receiver, not a TV. There are other examples on the web with the 2000T losing sound, even when using a single hdmi port, and as you don't even own a 2000T then to try and suggest it's the users who don't know what they are doing is just incredibly arrogant.The 500GB hard disk and dual tuner are standard fare these days, but less common is the range of network features, which includes a range of internet content and DLNA streaming of media files across a home network. With power saving in standby set to 'OFF', loop through to the TV remains totally in tact. Neither of the USB ports become active. Even when the recording starts the USB ports remain inactive. Under these circumstances the only way to activate the USB ports is to toggle the 2000T on and then off again, and the USB ports will then remain active until the recording has finished, providing there is not another recording due to start in the subsequent 40 minutes. My Humax HDR-2000T is 9 years old. Recently some buttons on the remote have become unreliable and I was thinking of just replacing that but the PVR itself is also starting to become a bit temperamental. It occasionally throws up a blank green screen which can only be cleared by cycling the power, which is a faff because of it's location. The other day I was scrolling through the recorded material and it suddenly froze and wouldn't respond to any remote buttons. The remote seemed to be transmitting as it's PVR button was flashing. Again a power cycle cleared it but it has made me think it's time to replace the whole machine. Hi, I am replacing my Humax PVR 9300 and I think I have narrowed it down to either the HDR-2000T or the DTR-T1000, can anyone explain if there is much difference. Thank you. Identifies the audio codec that the destination supports, and provide a audio format the destination can support. Identifies the video capability of the destination, and informs the source to provide a video format the destination can support. Then (with power saving in standby still 'ON') loop through is enabled a few seconds after 18 minutes (same time as HDR-FOX T2s on 1.03.xx) before the scheduled start time of a recording, and the USB ports become powered, and the TV can now see that there is something connected on the HDMI port. During this change of standby state there is a very brief momentary picture break-up, very brief freezing; I'm guessing that this is the powered loop through being enabled. Frankly your comments show you have little or no understanding of the issues involved in splitting a HDMI output to multiple devices with differing capabilities.I then ran the test for the third time, still using the new HDMI lead but connected via the Neet HDMI hub. Sure enough 15 minutes before record time, same as happened originally i.e. momentary total signal loss. I then ran the test again, only this time I connected a brand new HDMI lead running it straight from the Humax to the TV. Again bang on 15 minutes before record time the same - momentary picture break-up, freezing and pixilation. It's nothing to do with Humax or any other makers, it's purely down to the limitations of the EDID data exchange between different makers destination devices. Despite having ZERO problems with any of my other Humax boxes, the 2000T refuses to work properly with the hdmi splitter. Why would every other Humax box work but not the 2000T?
