The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes. Which is basically a condensed version of this book. Although I thought it should have been a documentary series and not just a movie, there's just too much info to cram into one documentary. We meet Athene, who sprang fully formed from her father's head: goddess of war and wisdom, guardian of Athens. We run with Artemis, goddess of hunting and protector of young girls (apart from those she decides she wants as a sacrifice). Here is Aphrodite, goddess of sex and desire - there is no deity more determined and able to make you miserable if you annoy her. Goddess Wisdom by Tanishka the Moon Woman:I have only recently found the work of Tanishka and in truth I enjoyed this book a great deal more than I thought I would. I am not sure why I was initially not drawn to it, but Tanishka writes in a really easy and practical way that really helps to bring collective ancient Goddess teachings into the modern day. There is no higher compliment that I could pay it than that. If a Goddess is not in here she may still be lost in the ether somewhere. She’s a big one and for reference not reading – but if you’re a Goddess devotee it’s a must have.

It was the following Spring that Marilyn was to find herself in the company of a woman who would go on to become one of the most important influences in her life. Natasha Lytess, a failed actress was currently the head drama coach at Columbia. She had fled Nazi persecution in Germany where she had worked under the great Max Reinhardt and a marriage to Bruno Frank, a novelist of some repute, certainly in left-wing circles. There was a noticeable difference during work, I was struggling less in the afternoon slumps and had sustained energy to get through the day without relying heavily on caffeine or a sugar hit to keep me going. Over time, I found myself craving less sugar in general and my mood was more balanced. Graves concluded, in the second and expanded edition, that the male-dominant monotheistic god of Judaism and its successors were the cause of the White Goddess's downfall, and thus the source of much of the modern world's woe. According to Graves's biographer Richard Perceval Graves, Laura Riding played a crucial role in the development of Graves's thoughts when writing The White Goddess, despite the fact the two were estranged at that point.
