About this deal

Like thats fine i guess but it seems like it was the same thing everytime and there wasnt much meaningful conversations as i would like. Because, like…if the reason you’re emotionally invested in this person is just because you can safely bang, then that could be anybody right there. The spice, the story, the tie in to the previous Darkmourn book (lord of eternal night) it was fantastic! Still ima continue this series because its brainless entertainment and im interested in seeing what happens.

I love me a good retelling of Persephone and Hades and though it started out strong, I feel like the end was rushed and a bit of a let down.That is usually fine with retellings but the political aspect in this story didn’t work for me either since the world building for the elves was not fletched out at all so I couldn’t care less for who the ruler would be because we didn’t know what their impact was like. So many questions I had were left unanswered or things just didn’t make sense plot wise for the political aspects here. It made me wonder if Faenir would truly be a good king or not, since it seems as though his priorities mostly lie with Arlo. King of Immortal Tithe is a complete, M/M *stand-alone novel*, inspired by Hades x Persephone… but if Hades fell in love with Persephone’s brother instead. It took all of four pages before Arlo was sobbing in Faenir's arms and all his reason's for not liking Faenir are forgotten.

Like it had good parts, but like all of the sudden it like "AHH I LOVE YOU" like bro you just spent like 50 pages ranting about how much you hated everything about him and what he stood for and for like good reason! I haven't read the first book in this universe, so my lack of knowledge about the world may be because of that. What I liked about the previous book was that, even tho it was clear the writing needed improvement, the story was creative and intriguing. All it took for Arlo to actually throw himself into Faenir's arms was Myrinn telling him about why the queen hated Faenir.

With the amount of time the author put into us liking Myrinn, the betrayal at the end just felt cheap. To uphold the promise he made to his parents, ensuring the protection of his sister from the world and its dangers. Even though Ben creates a new world with new rules and lore as per usual in fantasy books, the world building and also the driving plot points aren’t too complicated or twisted. I love how, although the story has subtle nods to the original myths and tales, Alderson makes it his own.

I love that King of Immortal Tithe was it’s own story while still being a part of the Darkmourn universe, it was really cool to hear Arlo’s thoughts about the vampire plague and learn about how much things have changed in the large span of time since the end of Lord of Eternal Night. Unable to resist the human, Faenir kidnaps him to Evelina, but his family does not take this in stride.
