About this deal

This scent can be rather challenging to wear, especially since its projection is so loud and bold. Lasts for days on skin & clothes. Unfortunately, it doesn't smell as good as it used to. I prefer to use Mont blanc Individual instead. It's nicer and more noticeable. Michel Almaraic’s masterpiece! All these years I was ignoring Joop homme and then one day, a year ago, I said to myself “try this” and booom!!! Magic!! Transported to late 80’s!! What I love about this fragrance is its longevity. It stays on my skin for a good 6-7 hours, and I still get compliments even after wearing it for several hours. The projection is also excellent, not too strong, but it lingers around me throughout the day. I gave Joop! Homme away because it turned very powdery with my body chemistry. The person I gave it to said she liked it because it reminded her of her uncle who was rich in the 90s but isn't anymore. Indoor pillars, ya' know?

This stuff makes me laugh. To this day I can't tell if I like it, or hate it. Wouldn't spray it within 100 yards of my home. But for some reason, I'm glad it exists. Smelt this very recently on a work colleague and was guessing about the fragrance he had on. I kept thinking it smelt very inviting and cozy. I finally asked him what he was wearing and he said it was joop original!!!! I was floored as I wouldn’t have guessed it was plain old joop that I’d gone through tons of in my prime clubbing years. Solid bottle and bright pink liquid is a sign that this scent wants to be noticed! I think it is a unisex scent, but I also think it is a “mature” scent that would go better for the 35 plus age group. I own a 5ml splash miniature of this. I've been wearing it for a year...I believe I've worn this for about 30 to 40 times until now and my mini-bottle is still HALF-FULL(exactly 50%). From the citrus blast in the opening then to vanilla and florals to honey and tobacco in the drydown all while still going strong can be addictive or off-putting. I think the thing to "get" about JOOP! is that it is deliberately artificial. There is something sly and dreamlike about that fruity-sweet base that is meant to be playfully, intentionally artificial. "High concept". Thus the scent is very urbane... deliberately man-made, like a Claes Oldenburg hamburger. Some perfumes are meant to remind you of trees and grass and herbs, but JOOP! is meant to be "Dorothy over the rainbow, now in a saturated Technicolor", you might say. That's by intention. In the bathroom cabinet at my family’s holiday home, there’s a bottle of Old Spice that belonged to my dad. In my opinion, this perfume was ahead of its time and is still a splendid fragrance with a unique personality.

One thing to note is that the opening can be quite strong, so I recommend spraying it a little away from your face. Also, I would say that this scent is more suitable for colder months as it has a cozy and comforting feel to it. I love cinnamon and vanilla but this smells unacceptable on my skin. Tried it many times, thinking something is wrong with me or my nose but every single time it gave me chemical, toxic waste vibes. For the love of truth, and if you care: there was a man who wore this and used to be patron at the same local pub (London) I used to attend years ago with a bunch of female colleagues, after work.For ten years, I owned a home which shared a wall with my neighbour. During that decade, I would smell Joop! Homme and think, “Oh, Neville has come home. I need to see him about something”.

Joop!" is a level of pink magic not seen since Pepto-Bismol. It is as comfortable swapping prison stories with Danny Trejo as it is talkin' feelings with Justin Bieber. I have loved "Joop!" ever since a pantsless George Takei introduced it to America in that memorable "Star Trek V" product placement. This is mainly a metallic and ambery orange blossom scent that has a strong staying power, it's unique and very distinguish. Great scent that changed the game and it's still daring. Nuclear and densely sweet, like animalic bubblegum. Starts off with syrupy orange blossom, that immediately transforms into a dusty and dense cinnamon heliotrope accord, ends on a distinctly animalic vanilla tonka base.This (and PR One Million) was the smell of house parties and nights out for my generation. The “Dior Sauvage” of the time. Everyone had it or had at least smelled it. In conclusion, Joop! Homme EdT is a fragrance of contradictions: both unforgettable and outdated, luxurious in intent but cheap in execution. It serves as a cautionary tale in the fragrance world, proving that longevity and projection aren't everything. Choose wisely. Smells like Big Red Gum Flavored Embalming Fluid… but in a good way? Fascinating. Timeless. Terrible. Beautiful. I believe this is still the best fragrance to use while wearing a pink shirt. In Spring and cooler Summer. Not in the Tropics for sure. It might poise a beach. And for certain not on an airplane. I hate when my partner wears this it makes my head hurt and I don't like the smell. it's sweet but it's not a nice kind of sweet imo, it does last long however but usually smells you don't like do tend to stay around for longer 🤠
