About this deal

A built-in expression pedal can control various parameters, and a built-in tuner allows you to always be in tune quickly, silently if needed. Its got plenty of options for routing out of the pedal and sounds great whether gigging or using it as a direct input into the desk recording. I know that these units are supposed to be controlled using the NUX software, but I run Linux, so I would prefer to make adjustments using the interface on the actual unit.

Can NOT split L / R to have IRs on one end and off on the other (to connect to amp and line out separately). I don’t think one should dial in at gig volumes…you should dial in against a good reference…and on good reference speakers. I don't own a Fractal anymore so I can't A/B test them properly, but to my noob hands and ears I'd probably not be able to tell the difference. I think some of the models can be a bit processor hungry on the stomp leading to possible compromises but I’m sure it can do most anything you need with some judicious editing .The corrected one and another where I changed exactly three setting quite heavy handed: I pushed Bias to the max (biggest effect). But that's exactly why I like it, the tone is recording-ready, no "annoying" frequencies like with some other devices but pretty well balanced and pleasant to the ear. Included in the collection are: 25 electric guitar amp models, 2 acoustic amp models, 3 bass amp models.

A said I really like the amp sounds, 5150 is huge, Marshalls are really close to the real thing, recti sounds great, Fenders sound great. No flat frequency response from the MG30 for the moment, even if all effects disabled and all EQ controls at noon.

And their bias control doesn't react no more as a third volume control, like it did in my unit after V3. I'd really suggest what I did in the beginning: book the rehearsal room only for you 2 or 3 times (one hour or a little more each session, but not much more because your ears will not "respond" properly anyway after a short while and will deceive you). C) Userabilityness: I'm just going to come out and say it: this is hands down the best user experience I've ever had with a modeler. I never had one malfunction, but for example, sometimes their digital pedals will make noise with certain power supplies, stuff like that. So I can use the "send" plug to feed a normal guitar amp while the same chain still feeds the inner amp sim + its IR.
