About this deal

A common complaint of modelling FX is that they emulate distortions and overdrives quite poorly. While this is no longer a given with modern units, the MS-3 sidesteps this with its loop switcher functionality. If you have a Zoom MS-70CDR and would like to test the waters with free synth-specific presets, Yuki If you have an MS-50G or MS-60B, note that you should NOT remove "CMN_DRV.ZDL" from your MS-50G, and you should NOT remove "CMN_BASS.ZDL" from your MS-60B.

The reverbs don't seem very "expansive" and don't seem to add much dimension to the sound (I have a Boss RV500 that I'm 50/50 on selling, so trying to find some good ambient reverbs that might justify me getting rid of it) My next task is to determine which add-ons I want to have regular access to. I’m taking some notes and kind of weighing the various categories & tones. If I ever need any of the others, I can load them later, assuming the StompShare app is functional when that time comes. That’s why I want to choose carefully now. The Zoom MS-70CDR can store a total of 50 user presets with effect settings. Out of the box it ships

The MS-3 can even be used to switch the channels on an amp as part of its patch switching, for extra flexibility. If you just get one pedal, get the MS-50G if you play guitar, or the MS-60B if you play bass. If you must have stereo inputs, or you don't want drive effects and you want tons of compressors, filters, modulations, delays, and reverbs instead, then get the MS-70CDR.

An effect is like a pedal, such as reverb, delay, chorus, or fuzz. The multistomps come with between 58 to 100 effects, depending on the model. Whether you're a guitarist or a bass player, you can cut down the size of your pedalboard by adding an MS-70CDR. From a warm, vintage sound to a clear, modern tone, this one pedal can do it all. It offers 86 diverse options for shaping your sound. For ease of use, these are organized into the following categories: ChorusYou can't midi control the parameters (so no performance/automation... take that said filter, it's not that useful if I can't tweak it while something is going through the pedal - despite the filter being not up to my taste) and, afaik, you can't even theak two parameters at the same time (even on the same effect inside the fx chain)... it's a sort of "set it and forget it" device, not something you can "play". That’s a major sacrifice, considering that the MS series pedals do this pretty well. Very experienced guitarists will obviously not be satisfied with the clones, but the distortion/overdrive sounds have a crap-ton of variety and they sound good just as their own personalities. On the other hand, you may already have Chorus. Delay and Reverb units in your pedalboard but are somewhat curious about what it would sound like to pair them with - lets say - 6 extra choruses or 6 delays or any other mix of time based effects the CDR is full of.

With the effect editor, you can choose from 172 effects, although the actual amount of effects the pedal can hold ranges from about 50 to 100.Overall, I'm pretty impressed (relative to what I actually paid for it), and thought I'd see what other people think of it: influenced by big name pedals from well-known manufacturers, and in many cases you get very close to The effects in this unit are time-based mainly [a lot of Choruses, Delays, Reverbs, phaser, flanger...] and some extra goodies [such as Guitar and Bass EQs and a noise reduction that works like a charm].
