About this deal

To me My Life Next Door is silly, filled with platitudes and flat dialogues, bland and stereotypical characters I don't give a shit about (including a perfect snowflake and an absent mum), an instalovish romance with no chemistry whatsoever and - Well, I guess that's all. I hated Sam's mom and her moms young boyfriend, Clay that is helping her on her campaign on becoming a senator. After college she worked in many fields, including academic publishing and as an editor at Harlequin. There were some heavy issues, such as substance addiction, jealousy, friendships unraveling, as well as the fine line between the right and wrong. I'm sure Sam wants to know why her friend is so confused and why she needs to run away so desperately but wait.

George gives me a smile, the same dazzling sweet smile as his big brother, although at this point, with green teeth.I love my family and I guess i would stick to them no matter what, but I definitely hope not to find out this on my own. There have been plenty of books that I have read where the characters lack chemistry, but you can feel the chemistry between them and it added even more enjoyment to the book! It is a teen romance but it feels like something bigger due to how many other important characters are featured. Yet when the unthinkable happens and tragedy strikes, Samantha will have to think hard between making the right decision, making the wrong one could ultimately destroy both the families that she loves. Samantha couldn’t be happier – until that is, her senator mother makes a grave mistake that could destroy her newfound happiness and love.

She lives with her older, rebellious sister and her single mother who, at times, is more interested in politics than being involved in her daughters' lives.Her mother is a real piece of work and not only looks down on the Garrett family but gets caught up with her new campaign guy Clay and lacks a lot of the important mom skills.

Before I started reading, I expected it to be a reasonably thin, fluffy and light novel that I would enjoy but not feel quite so moved by. The first half of this book is sweet, caring, and fun but then it just becomes strike after strike after strike.Finally got round to reading a book I’ve attempted to read for the last five years this week: I’d say that’s pretty damn productive. Yet, what winds up happening in this situation is that Nan refuses to speak to Sam and even after Sam finally gets the backbone and guts to force Nan to speak to her, they have a short conversation and end their friendship of twelve years just like that.

I found being in Sam's head a very pleasant, refreshing, and, often times, spontaneously hilarious experience when compared to many of the female narrators of her genre. Throughout the course of the novel, Sam struggles to make her own decisions and pull away from the person her mother is trying to make her be to become herself.I really like stories like this, that get you through every stage of a young relationship; that make you hold your breath for the romantic moments, for the first kiss; that make you smile at all the silliness and cuteness of the couple; that make you ache for them when they are in trouble and fall apart; that make you love them more when they get back together, much stronger as a couple, much more in love, knowing themselves better, accepting each other with the good and the bad, feeling their love grow with every page, with every word. I won't say too much, as it would spoil the story, but there is a plot twist at the end of this book, one that I was not expecting. Despite that, My Life Next Door is a fantastic contemporary, that I will most likely re-read in the future.
