About this deal

It might not be as convenient as if the developers officially supported the controller themselves, but it works. Remember that your PC won't explicitly recognize the controller as a Nintendo 64 one but merely as a generic gamepad. Some parts of the original controller are great, but as with all things, as time goes on innovations are made and tech is improved. To fix this, developer added logic so the joystick will start at 2x sensitivity and auto-scale sensitivity per-side of each axis to allow even old joysticks to get full range.

You can easily go from NSO N64 button layout to the traditional Switch Pro controller button layout with a quick press of the new “Swap” button.Suppose you don't have an old Nintendo 64 controller and aren't especially bothered about authenticity. This controller even has 4 trigger buttons on the back of it and its yellow arrow camera buttons are designed to mimic the N64’s as well. In fact, now that both Sony and Microsoft are bringing at least some of their exclusives to PC, I’d argue it’s the perfect one-two punch for the gaming market. Nintendo have always been good at making hardware and software which feel as if they're working hand in glove (except for the Nintendo Power Glove).

Our only downfall with this controller when we reviewed it was that there’s a lot of travel on the analogue stick, so your thumb will be moving around a lot. You can connect the Switch Pro controller to PC with or without a wire, so it stands to reason I'll be able to use this new N64 controller on PC too, right? The cable is just 10ft long which isn’t the longest but it will do for most of us who live in caves.The three prong build is visually interesting and nostalgic, but what Retro Fighters have done is great. Plug in the controller first before open the emulator or power on the raspberry pi, so your device could detect the controller easily. while using the original Nintendo 64 controller, then by all means, it makes sense to continue using what you know and like. All you need is the proper hardware, and you, too, can play games on your PC with one of history's most lovably weird controllers. Old Skool the brand isn’t very well known, and that’s for good reason, they make pretty average products, and we’ll be honest their replacement N64 controllers are pretty average too but they’re also very cheap and resemble the original controller.
