About this deal

Rochas launches the new men's perfume L'Homme Rochas in January 2020, described as a romantic and sensual scent for "a neo French lover". The concept and campaign of the new edition revolve around the city of Paris, inspired by the history of this house. Really digging this stuff and I’m may be in the minority but I like this better than the OG (to be fair the OG is great but I’m getting burnt out on blue scents )

To add context, I'm pretty young, early 20's, so do keep that in mind when I say I dislike patchouli. The performance of Rochas man is where it is going to suffer some here. Yes, it smells good and it’s fresh while still remaining sweet, but it’s not going to last you longer than 4 hours. It won’t be too detectable after a couple. This one lasting past 6 hours is going to be a stretch. The longevity being a bit lower may not be a bad thing though. For example, you could probably spray one spray of this and go to fragrance free area and no one would complain. Although this fragrance doesn’t smell exactly like Montblanc Individuel, it still shares some characteristics. First, they both have the raspberry note. But, beyond that they both have a massive appeal that doesn’t draw a lot of attention. Although Rochas is unique, you probably won’t get crazy reactions. This can also be a good thing depending on where you’re going or what you’re doing. Think soap. It’s not unpleasant, but you aren’t throwing compliments at someone because he or she washed their hands recently. Hearing the fragrance so contemporary, not at all dated, makes me think Rochas has successfully reformulated it for the better. The aroma is pleasant and the combination of citrus notes with resinous and smoky ones. I find it brilliant and successful. I don’t perceive marine or salty notes. We got the freshness of this perfume from citrus fruits and aromatic herbs. Overall, performances are not astounding, as most today fragrances. The longevity is moderate; it lasted me from half a day, but it is very close to the skin. If you are a citrus lover, this is an amazing fragrance for the price and quality. A morning and daily scent, perfect for late spring and summer. If I have to find a similarity, it reminds me of another recent buy, namely Verveine Cédrat, the share the same verveine vibe. I own a number of fragrances that are similar to the genre of what Moustache EDP is, including YSL Tuxedo. Moustache definitely smells very similar to Tuxedo, but I will say that I feel this fragrance is more versatile. It's Spring and sunny/cool, and while YSL Tuxedo is sitting in my drawer along with a number of fragrances I wear in the Fall Winter, Moustache does lean a tad lighter which makes it a fragrance I believe I can wear in the Spring as well.

PROJECTION: 4/10. Decent, about 3 feet from the wearer, this is mainly a evening/night time fragrance so it doesn't need to be too loud. Fragrances remain the most important product of the Rochas brand, and Rochas has employed its own in-house perfumer, Jean-Michel Duriez, since 2008. Compliments you will get on close encounters, I would say this is for dates as it would be mysterious and person will want to get close to you to work it out, im glad its NOT animalic because this fragrance will give the feeling of being calm and at the same time smelling good.

Never cloying, always pleasant in this case, so bravo Bruno Jovanovic for putting together something interesting and wearable, and not jumping on the toxic choke-you-with-an-ambroxan-chemtrail bandwagon. The benzoin is a touch darker and more leathery than I expected, so I see where people are coming from when they say it’s similar to Bentley For Men Intense. Definitely not a direct alternative—but this feels like a lighter, more wearable (and better) version of that.

The current product is very fresh, very summery, very citric (in the prelude) and has a very, very, very classic appearance. It must be with the base and the top note as well. Also very timeless. Although I write and do a lot of research here, I'm not a fragrance historian or chief analyst, but I would have thought that he was born in 1961 or at least 1972. What else can I say much about it. I'd have sworn there's lavender in there. It's very powdery. Supposedly it's not. I don't know what else to say I can't think of anything else to say because he doesn't inspire me. It's beautiful, though. But somehow too generic, almost too boring. Spee's wife sees it differently and is thrilled. She advised to buy it immediately, and she didn't know then that it only costs 50 ounces list price. At least as long as all the alcohol in the perfume industry is not requisitioned for the production of disinfectants, then it will be more expensive again. I thought of Monsieur De Givenchy. I tested it two years ago and have no concrete memory for smells, but I also found it very masculine, very classic, very beautiful and very meaningless. But it's certainly me. And Givenchy also seems to work differently than Rochas, if I look at my comments at the time and compare the scent pyramids. Style or nothing! What matters is cutting a fine figure, the famous beautiful drape of the clothes. Rochas invented the basque, designed the mermaid evening gown, liberated women’s bodies with his ¾ coats and square shoulders, and created the Bird dress inspired by the artists of his day. Timeless classics that the couturier reinvented for every season. This is a spring scent. While yes, you can get away with this in fall and winter, this is the kind of fragrance that extends the gourmand season, not shines when its at its highest. OCCASION - cooler weather, best for fall but can be worn in the winter too. Cozy and warm scent perfect for date night and close encounters, but can work as a cool weather going out scent as well. As far as sprays go - i go 4 to 8 sprays, depending on where and what I'm going to do. For a date night/close encounter 4 is perfect, but if you are going out for drinks with friends I found that 7-8 sprays will get you solid performance and people will be able to notice you cause of the sillage.Performance is indeed low, maybe lower than Coffee Break -- but unless a fragrance is exorbitantly expensive, I really do not mind that -- I don't want my fragrances to speak for me, just to give a subliminal good impression of me. I'm just a little let down by how dated and teenage boy-ish the dry down smells, and for that reason, it is a strong like and not an absolute love, despite the opening minute smelling like a dead ringer for my beloved Coffee Break. The perfume takes some time to unwind, and the sourness remains in the air and around me for a good half hour. The first flower that peeps out of the bouquet in the heart is jasmine. I can also feel the watery undertones of freesia, the bitter touch of the lily of the valley. Violet is subdued and so is the rose, neither too powdery nor too rosy. Instead, the blue shades of lavender flowers reach my nose clear and limpid now, the intense ones that release the perfumed bags from the drawer. But the sour aspect does not completely fade, as the heart includes the aromatic, spicy, and sour leaves of coriander. Green coriander notes in fusion with an overwhelmingly masculine immersive lavender. In this bouquet, I recognise some slightly smoky nuances, as if incense resin or other resinous elements were binding the flowers together. There should also be some mugwort between the middle notes, but my nose has a hard time recognising it. L'Homme Rochas was created under the concept of reinventing the man of the moment, focusing on the style and personality of the current Parisian and respecting the codes of Maison Rochas. For this, the fragrance needed to convey characteristics such as: timeless, casual, and chic. I say this because I have the vintage version of Mustache, from 1948, and for this Eau de Parfum version, it maintains the same characteristics, a super aromatic with hints of chypre and an intense resinous base, and in the vintage version, it it becomes more open, shiny, lush, bubbly.

Performance on this is decent as it lasts 6-10 hours but it doesn’t project a lot and is mainly a scent bubble type of scent that makes it a perfect work scent !! It's unwearable any location today for me, and even tho i have a youth connection with it, im still selling by bottle as i know 100% i'll never wear this again. That alone should tell you something from a once upon a time fan. But here's the funny thing, today i'd LOVE to smell this on a sexy girl! So men stay away, ladies a great sexy alluring cheapie that's worth the money. First spray: coffee very faint, sweet and vanilla (here it smells like the top aroma of a cappuccino, then next half hour it settles and its less sweet because of the coffee note then it gradually goes on to becoming a fragrance then can be a definite Signature scent without bothering anybody and on close counters people will ask what is that and mostly the ladies. Because it holds at the base as vanilla (girls love that) and patchouli to balance the fragrance and sandalwood (this what makes it manly). This is the fragrance i reach for when i have no idea what to wear, it never dissapoints and just smells amazing, i love the blood orange note in this too." Performance is a little underwhelming for now, about 5 hours on skin with first hour of good projection, I have kept it for maceration so I hope that it improves as I absolutely adore this! The performance is quite similar to CW Intense on my skin but atleast this is not pretending to be a beast mode with linear smell, the class and depth and the presentation adds to it charm.The extra spice leans Mustache more toward an old-school scent vibe vs Tuxedo which has more of the creamier note to it. I don't know what that 'creamier' note is, but i assumed it was Ambergris, and it's amazing!
