Sunt capabili să sufere în tăcere, să-și accepte vine și să facă tot posibilul pentru a fi fericiți. Până la final am fost convinsă că situația lor nu are nici o rezolvare. Nineteen years since that day. Nineteen whole years! And I’m still looking for you. I will never stop looking for you. How many times have we heard stories from friends and family about how they met their future partner? How many of them told you that it was love at first sight or they “knew right away” that this was it? Those stories are few and far between. We will even joke to those people that their story should have been a Hallmark movie.

Personajele mi-au plăcut, sunt reale. Cu calități și defecte, ca orice om de pe stradă. Am avut impresia că îi pot întâlni oricând. This is one that I thought I would love - what’s not to love about a love story? But I just didn’t connect. There were several things that rang true in this novel- marriages don’t always work, accidents happen and handling grief is difficult and different for each of us. There definitely were some tough things that happened to the characters and I felt for them over their losses, over the burdens they carried. But the premise of the book that had a woman falling apart after a one week affair with a man who disappears from her life just didn’t work for me, mainly because there just wasn’t enough of their time together shown to reflect a realistic connection between them for me. If I had felt that connection, I could have gone with the flow and accepted all of the coincidences that made this feel a little contrived with a predictable ending. It’s barely 3 stars for me. Bottom line is that I’m not the audience for this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this does well with fans of romance. I upped it to 3 stars in spite of the things I didn’t connect with because I did connect with the grief expressed by Sarah and Eddie for their sisters in the letters they wrote. This was my first read with Traveling Sisters and I enjoyed getting the perspectives of others who read this, even though we all didn’t agree. Thank you so much to Edelweiss, Pamela Dorman Books / Penguin Publishing Group and Rosie Walsh for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review. When life finally pulls these two lovebirds out of their romantic cocoon, Eddie promises Sarah he’ll call…BUT…he never does. Oh man!!! I didn’t connect with this book - there wasn't much of a story and the whole thing was uneventful and underwhelming unfortunately. I didn't like the characters either particularly the MC - honestly I wouldn't have called her either.Perhaps I read a different book because my version says they had seven perfect days together on the cover not six. In the book we only had about 2 days of kerfuffling as well. Not that any of this matters really. The important piece to the story is that Mr Lover Lover didn’t call after all that love!!!! I found myself feeling annoyed with Sarah's behavior. I simply had no sympathy for her as a character, mostly because of the way she was acting. She was very self-centered not even noticing what her friends were going through around her due to her "Eddie Tunnel Vision". Yet, I admittedly was still intrigued by what could have actually led to Eddie "ghosting" her. Walsh laid out several breadcrumbs and my curiosity was definitely piqued. There was no doubt that I had to know what was actually going on. Was Eddie married? Was he a criminal? Was Sarah actually mentally unbalanced and imagining the connection they had? Ghosted is the immersive, beguiling story of Sarah, a woman who spends seven wondrous days with the man of her dreams only to be devastated, mystified, and tormented with the question why when he seemingly disappears, and his promised call never arrives.

So when he leaves for a long-booked holiday and promises to call from the airport, you have no cause to doubt him. it is now my great displeasure to confirm: this book contains no ghosts. only the ghost of my dreams of enjoying this read... Sarah & Eddie meet, spend a week together & fall deeply in love. Maybe my romantic heart has hardened with age but the fact that this thirty-something year old woman became OBSESSED with Eddie after 7 days just didn't seem romantic to me. It felt unstable. All her frantic, unanswered attempts to reach out to Eddie crossed a line in my mind. She appeared desperate, unbalanced and stalkerish.

She’s kind of unraveling, and it’s kind of ridiculous, but I also kind of loved it because who hasn't been on the receiving end of being *ghosted* at least once in their lives, convinced that death-by-rejection might in fact be a thing? Sarah has been inexplicably ghosted by Eddie, a man she had fallen hopelessly in love with. She could have sworn he'd felt the same way. Sarah is heartbroken, and unable to let this love go.... She has to find out why... But if I had my time again, I would not have given up,” Granddad said. “I don’t believe that love is meant to be like an explosion. It is not meant to be dramatic, or ravenous, or any of the silly words ascribed by writers and musicians. But I do believe that when you know, you know. And I knew, and I let it go without any real sort of fight, and I will never forgive myself that.” He closed his eyes.” I've been trying to digest my thoughts and I truly just didn't care for the story. And I really hate that I didn't because I wanted SO BADLY to love it.
