The metal detector is budget-friendly compared to its Equinox 800 counterpart; hence, you could get yourself a 600 and upgrade with a smaller search-coil and (or) headphones and still save some change. After the original release of the Equinox 600 and 800 in 2018, Minelab updated the line with the 700 and 900 in 2022.While Minelab has added many enhancements to the Equinox 700 and 900, it is still built on the same core technology first introduced in 2018 with the 600 and 800. Minelab's major enhancement to its lineup came with the Manticore in 2022. Using the table above, you can clearly see that the using the Iron Bias settings between 2 and 4 on the Equinox 800 is equivalent to using Iron Bias settings 1 and 2 on the Equinox 600. Default Iron Bias Settings For The Minelab Equinox 800 and 600. The Iron Bias setting is considered a local change only. Iron Bias does not impact other Equinox search profiles. The Iron Bias settings only impacts the current search profile the operator is using. In other words, if you are using the Park 2 search profile, the Iron Bias settings in Park 1 or any of the other profiles will not be changed.

The EQUINOX 600 offers 3single frequencies of 5, 10, 15, kHz, giving an expanded 3-times range of 5 to 15kHz. The control box is very similar on both machines, identical in terms of quality and with very minor changes. Icons and buttons lie in the same places which mean that if you are considering an upgrade from the Equinox 600 to the Equinox 700 then you will have virtually no learning curve. It’s also worth pointing out that if you’re new to the Equinox range you won’t struggle too, as the screen is simple. The arc number in the centre is the target identification number, depth indicator lies to its right hand side, the circular graphic shows the discrimination pattern, battery life is in the top left corner and search modes are at the bottom. It’s nice and simple. The Minelab Equinox 600 comes with pre-configured settings and several pre set modes, which in themselves are excellent. You could find virtually all types of metals with multiple frequencies at work. Noise won’t be a bother because of its automatic Noise Cancel. You could also take advantage of its auto ground balancing (or tweak it to your taste with the manual option) and its adjustable threshold. Detect Modes on Equinox 600 The Equinox 700 wins on discrimination, waterproof rating, headphones, composition and auxiliary features (torch, vibration etc).
