I have been happily oblivious to the Bosh! phenomenon on social media, content in what the book alone has managed to achieve in our house. It was more than a recipe book. It was a guide to making meat-free food that the kids would eat, showing us how to bolster and layer flavours using everyday ingredients in recipes that you could have any day of the week and with stuff you have in the cupboards. No! Writing with budget constraints really got our creative juices flowing and made us think out of the box for ways to create maximum flavour with minimum cost. In BOSH! On a budget, Henry and Ian detail over 100 vegan recipes, each of which uses affordable ingredients. Of course, as is the BOSH! way, all of these recipes promise to be delicious and easy to make.

My first Bosh! book was given to me about four years ago by my friend Sharon, who is also a highly sought after plant-based retreat-caterer, and I still use nearly all the recipes every week. She also suggested that my family and I watch the documentary What the Health? on Netflix. I won’t go into it here, but let’s just say we were sold on the ‘why?’ and, thankfully, giving us the book gave us the ‘how?’. Ian Theasby and Henry Firth from BOSH! create simple and imaginative vegan recipes which are filmed and broadcast to over 1.4m Facebook users. Iv always cooked from scratch and don't buy many processed foods but I was in a bit of a rut with what I ate. This book has made me excited about cooking again. No one likes a flat, dry cake so we test our recipes over and over until we’re absolutely sure they work perfectly!Speedy BOSH! is dedicated to vegan meals that can be prepared and cooked in under 30 minutes, while BOSH! Healthy Vegan is all about eating clean AND satisfying your tastebuds. After a couple of minutes, pour off a little of the sage butter into a small bowl and set the crispy sage leaves aside on a sheet of kitchen paper. Counting the most recent release, BOSH! On A Budget, Henry and Ian have produced six cookbooks brimming with recipes. Peel the peppers; Rub the burned skin from the cooled peppers with your fingers. Seed and roughly chop the peppers. BOSH! How To Live Vegan is a great handbook for recent vegan converts. As well as easy recipes, the book also details how to properly source good quality vegan ingredients. Additionally, it has helpful tips on sustainable living.

Henry: Watch a few documentaries on veganism like Cowspiracy. The information in those films will definitely legitimise and reinforce your decision to go plant-based. Build the tart; Unroll the pastry and cut it in half widthways to make fitting the pastry into the pan easier. Take the lid off the pan and scatter half the cheese over the onions. Drape the two pieces of pastry over the top to cover the onions (they will overlap in the middle) Take the pan off the heat and set it to one side, leaving the lid on but with a small gap to let out steam I love the BOSH! boys, their energy and their totally original, exciting approach to simple, tasty plant-based food.’ We’ve written a fair few bolognese recipes over the years, but this one, made with celeriac and lentils, is one of our best. Be warned though, it makes a BIG batch! One portion of this will happily feed 16 people, but it freezes like a dream, which means you’ll have something delicious to eat even if you don’t fancy cooking from scratch!
