Kai Young is officially a new standard for paper boyfriends. His character was THE invigorating aspect of the storyline. He wasnât a compulsive man with sociopath tenderizes, he was a charming and cultured man with such a kind and soft spot for Isabella. Everything he did, said was a perfection in their relationship. No wrong move from Kai Young! HE CARRIED THE BOOK!! I love how Isa and Kai are so different from each other yet they never tried to change the other. They both are unapologetically themselves. Isa is a social butterfly with purple streaked hair and Kai is confident and reserved in every way but they found their love amidst the secret libraries in the confines of Valhalla club and their sparkling chemistry and beaming tension. Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesnât like or a man she couldnât charm...except for Kai Young.But this is really so different from any other Ana Huang character or dynamic and yet it's still on-brand and has everything you love about her worlds and writing! And if anything, come for the cameos and the crumbs of who's next because my greedy hands are already clamoring for what's coming in King of Greed (of which my pre-review may have a lil hint). Y'all are not ready but you need to get ready for April 27th because Kai and Isabella are about to fill your hearts with so much PRIDEEE! isabella is the tattooed, free-spirited bartender at the exclusive valhalla club and kai is one of their most elite members known for being very proper and very rich (heâs halfway to husband material on that alone đ€Ș). their is a strict no-fraternization policy but the two canât seem to stay away even though both have important deadlines looming. In King of Pride, Kai Young and Isabella Valencia are the main characters. Isabella is a bartender at an exclusive club, while Kai Young is a soon-to-be billionaire CEO who often visit the club. ISABELLA is a QUEEN. She wasn't like Ana's other girl characters, where most of have a good job or are owning luxury houses. She showed the actual struggle of people who're in fields like writing, acting, singing. She expressed herself so well, and she was hilarious, I loved her. We got a sneak peek of both Kai and Isabella in the first book, and they had both already stolen my heart by the time I got to their story. Kai was (and continues to be) a fantastic foil for Dante, while Isabella is the fun, outrageous, and weird friend any of us would be proud to have on our side. I love you, Isabella Valencia.â Simple and raw, stripped of all pretense except for the naked truth that had been staring me in the face all this time. âEvery single part of you, from your laugh to your humor to the way you canât stop talking about condoms.â You shouldâve never let me take you, Isabella. Because now that I have, I wonât be able to let you go.â Huang could have focused exclusively on the steaminess between the two, and it would have been a great romance novel on its own. However, character and story are always at the heart of King of Pride . Isabella and Kai banter through intelligent dialogue. There are dramatic plots, although extreme, that unfold with the frenzy of media attention and antagonistic businessmen; they also ensure the story has much more than romance, including corporate dealings and intrigue. Huang juggles all of these different elements and never loses sight of a single one of them. Itâs no easy feat, but she does it so well that you might forget youâre reading a romance novel and are instead in a stellar literary mash-up of Crazy Rich Asians (Youngâs motherly disapproval, anyone?) and Succession (who will get the power?) .Isabella is everything he shouldn't want, but with every look and every touch, he's tempted to break all his rules . . . and claim her as his own. I had guessed all the couples after reading KOW but Ana introduced us to so many new characters. đ«Ł ALSO I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE 7 BOOKS IN THIS SERIES! HAJABSKKAKAA đâšâš Everyone could see it coming that someone was trying to purposely sabotage Kai to threaten his position except Kai himself.
