By the way, the Trek version of the Farpoint does not have an S/M or M/L version, since it can be adjusted to any height. As a flight cover, the AirCover feels a little baggy. Unless your bag is crammed to capacity, the AirCover will sag and not look great but the protection it offers is certainly worth the downgrade in appearance. As a rain shield, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit. The Farpoint 55 Trek is not only for trekking, but it’s definitely a lot more suitable for it than the other Farpoint editions. It’s much more comfortable, has better padding, and has an integrated rain cover. But I think the best fit for this bag is actually round-the-world or gap-year travelers who will travel mostly overland. Osprey bags have officially been puppy approved by this lil’ guy in Bulgaria – how many of their competitors can say that?

The padding is comfortable. I carried it stuffed full of all my gear on the four day Santa Cruz Trek in the Cordillera Blancas of Peru and the padding and clips helped ease the burden a lot.
