About this deal

They're weak until they start saturating PD, then they're powerful until they start running out, then they're weak again. This functions just like the demolisher missile launcher, but also fires standard elite darts in addition to the demolisher missiles. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. But as it is now, it just seems like missiles are a fundamental and important part of most ship builds, while PD is more or less a niche for some low-tech ships. These come with a catch though in the shape of a lackluster launcher, and this has prompted [Joel Creates] to create a self-firing NERF missile with a secondary rocket motor.

An "if everyone has missiles/PD, no one does" sort of thing, and then use stacking bonuses, dedicated large-slot PD weapons, dedicated PD boats, dedicated missile ships, whathaveyou, to work within that framework. The blasters that these things go to stink; they are highly inaccurate hard to fire properly and the ammo is too expensive for how often it gets lost. And when I say "disproportional representation in ship builds", I'm not just talking about filling a couple small missile slots.

It's an elegant way of making glass cannon ships weaker, ships too focused on dealing damage and weak at defending themselves. I need the total length, OD at the widest point, OD at the smallest point (bottom), the ID, the fin perimeter lengths, and if possible, the depth of the middle well. NERF guns are a toy that appeals to adults and youngsters alike — if you’ve never had the chance to pelt your friends with safe and kid friendly foam darts in a surprise ambush, you haven’t lived. As you can see, the inside if the 1/2" barrel fits elite darts perfectly, and with the copper coupler, the demolisher missiles fit very nicely as well. And if ballistic and energy weapons got buffed via some sort of skill on par with Missile Specialization, then PD from respective weapon types would probably feel some of that buff as well and perform better against the (still high-quantity high-HP high-burst zero-flux long-range no-bad-Dmod all-content-beating) Missile Specialization. I also agree that computer-controlled ships should work to respond appropriately to the threat at hand. If launching a wide salvo of harpoons or atropos built up your flux, you'd think twice how many of them you link and launch together.

Mere darts aren’t enough, and there’s a range of missiles for the bellicose youngster intent on skirting the brink of global foam dart annihilation.
