About this deal

I have my boards next year (Edexcel IGCSE) and i really aspire to get an A* in English Language (1st Lang. famine away from the headlines, a famine of quiet suffering and lonely death', this uses anaphora (where a word is repeated at beginning of successive clauses) in this case 'famine'. I had been impressed by George Alagiah the man and the author of Home from Home but this book does memory an injustice.

His one regret at the end is he never learned the man’s name – that the one man who made him see clearly remains his ‘ nameless friend ’, the oxymoron picking up the irony that the man never gained any individuality, though it was a unique experience. It follows George as he becomes a reporter for the BBC for Africa, and through this, he takes us through much of the recent history of Africa (which sadly has involved many civil wars, corrupt dicators and famines). They feel the urge to know what happens next and their curiosity becomes stronger with each step of her life. The strategy of making the audience feel sorry for the author let’s them feel as if they are somehow connected to what she is saying. Semantic field of ghosts and death continues into the next paragraph which starts with 'ghoulish manner'.
