They look somewhat similar to their predecessor, the Astro A10, with squarish ear cups and the manufacturer's logo on the headband. These affordable wired gaming headphones have a lighter design than their predecessor and don't clamp as tightly on your head. The freedom of going wireless is convenient but comes at the expense of keeping an eye on battery life. That said, if you don't mind the design or if you work in a quiet place, they have a comfortable and well-built design. Buckle down for all-night gaming sessions thanks to its ergonomic construction, with closed-back design, a headband that may just outlast your old favourite headset.
An ultra-durable headband and sturdy construction offers reliable performance that transcends the standard gaming headsets. Clamping force is slightly higher than average, but the headband is metal-reinforced so you could probably bend it out a bit if you want. Rugged, damage-resistant construction and fatigue-combating memory foam ear cushions means your game lasts as long as you want it to. These bulky headphones aren't very portable, have bad noise isolation performance, and their boom mic isn't detachable for a casual look.Replaceable ear cushions and headband pad removes the need to purchase a new headset, simply replace worn cushions and pads as needed. Given my love affair with the A50’s excellent ear-mounted controls, the A10 is a significant step down. Currently, the console doesn’t support mic and game audio passing through a single TRRS jack for most games, despite having one on the top of the console. It’s little, and a bit stiff…but somehow it manages to balance the impressive girth of the headset just right on my head.
Well, in music it might mean that complicated sections with lots of instruments will sound a bit messy—instruments don’t have enough room in the mix to breathe, and thus overlap and cause conflicts. A pop filter over the microphone would have helped, but it still captures crisp voice communications, without much sibilance. The surround sound effect produced by higher-end gaming headsets is generally accomplished by audio processing and mixing between the stereo drivers for each ear, and aren't ever as precise or realistic as a dedicated surround sound speaker system due to the simple limits of acoustics; these headsets can create good panning effects between left, center, and right, but don't give any real sense of sound coming in front of or behind you. Astro’s always been known for a flashy, bass-heavy sound, and the A10 absolutely incorporates that aspect.
A Y-splitter would have been a nice addition for PC users with separate headphone and microphone ports.channel sound or a software-based simulated surround system like DTS Headphone:X or THX Spatial Audio delivers better results. The dialogue and sound effects come through clearly, so confirmed hits and blocks aren't lost against the bass-filled mix.
