Bluetooth pairing will occur, or the Bluetooth connection will be activated if you’ve previously paired the devices. Tap Disconnect to disconnect your device but keep its pairing information, or Forget to delete its pairing information. However, the second time you pair it, you will have to press and hold the pairing mode button for 7 seconds. Please note that [LE-WH-1000XM4] no longer appears after upgrading to firmware version 2.0.7 released on 5th November 2020. Hold it close to the NFC logo (e.g. left headphone cup on WH-1000XM4). You don't even have to power on your headphones. They will turn on automatically.
NOTE:The second option will reduce your sound quality compared to the first option because it favours signal strength over sound quality. If you are considering the WH-CH700Ns as a solution for everyday, general use - something for your Spotify playlists on the morning commute - then they’re certainly capable of that. For a more sophisticated performance with these kind of specs, though, your best option seems to be spending a few more pounds. The Bluetooth device you’re trying to connect to may not show up in the Bluetooth list if it’s already connected with a different device (e.g. a relative's phone might already be connected to your speaker or headphones without you noticing). You need to disable that connection first. Bluetooth pairing is similar. When two Bluetooth devices are pairing, they exchange information. They establish a connection and recognise each other in the future without any introduction - unless one device forgets the other one or vice versa. Some devices (e.g. the WH-1000XM4 headphones) can simultaneously connect to two Bluetooth devices. This is called a ‘multipoint connection’. Then close the Settings.In [Settings]→ [Devices]→ [Bluetooth & other devices], make sure that the caption below [WH-1000XM4]says‘ Connected voice, music’. If this is the case, the headphones have been paired and connected successfully.
Ensure your device is not already connected to its last-connected Bluetooth device. Bluetooth devices can automatically connect with previously paired devices if Bluetooth is enabled and both devices are placed near each other. The Sony WH-CH700N headphones are also not equipped with deep bass, which is fine if you want to listen to something gentle and acoustic, but not so great if you’re intending to pound your brain with the latest dance floor sounds. Playing around with the EQ helps a bit, but we’d be inclined to look elsewhere if you want some genuinely ballsy bottom end. So if any reason you can't connect your headphones to your Xperia with Google Fast pair, you can still do so from the Bluetooth settings menu. It's super simple. All you need to do is swipe down on the top of your Xperia press and hold the Bluetooth icon. This will bring up the device connection menu press pair new device. Once you've done that, put your headphones in pairing mode by holding the power button for 7 seconds. This works on all Sony Bluetooth headphones. Pairing once they're in pairing mode, select the device from the list and when prompted select pair. And it's as simple as that. Type your search word (e.g. ‘Bluetooth pairing’) in the search bar in the top left-hand corner, as shown in the screenshot below. Their overall character isn’t exceedingly rich, but it isn’t brittle either. Vocal lines don’t possess the body or warmth you might expect further up the chain, and even once free of its harshness the treble doesn’t quite soar. However, the WH-CH700Ns remain an easy listen with just enough weight and detail across the frequency band to offer better than passable sonic insight.
