About this deal

The overall feeling I got from this cordless drill is that it’s all a bit underwhelming. The design is unremarkable, and the grip isn’t the best. There are a couple of little features like the direction indicator that look good but don’t add to the performance. The drill isn’t very responsive, and the uninspiring drilling speed makes for slow work. Combi drills are highly versatile tools, and the Bosch PSB 1800 LI-2 is no exception. With 20 pre-selectable torque levels, it makes a great multi-purpose power driver. It also has a drill mode for drilling holes into wood and plastics and an impact drill mode for drilling into more challenging materials such as masonry and steel. Integrated work light, by comparison to Makita’s built-in light. This one stays on and comes on ready for you to line up your screw before you start fastening it in place. No self-respecting review of the best cordless drills available right now would be worth it without a proper head-to-head comparison of each tool. I set up a test rig that would put all the drills through the same challenges to get an idea of how each performed. As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.

We wouldn’t say that the Bosch PSB 1800 is the best drill we have ever reviewed.

It’s great that Bosch have included a charge level indicator on the base of this drill. It takes the guesswork out of knowing how much juice is left. It’s something that Ryobi could take on board. Right in front of the indicator is the LED work light. It’s reasonably powerful but turns off as soon as you let go of the trigger. You can, just about, run the light without turning the drill on as well, which is nice.Very happy that new drill is identical to my old one [except it works!], so very satisfied with offer & delivery from Tooled-Up. This drill is lightweight, easy to use, efficient and powerful for DIY projects around the house as well as small applications like mounting your TV or a portrait on the wall. It also has more torque to offer than its alternatives. We would recommend it over the res. However, if you want something that can handle heavy-duty applications like concrete, then the Bosch Cordless Hammer Drill ideal too.
