About this deal

According to the press release, the exclusive is designed to "quench the modern luxury shoppers’ thirst for exceptional products with authentic stories" and serves as the perfect gift – whether as a self-treat or for someone else. Without prejudice to the section Liability below, the Service may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance, updates, etc. We shall make reasonable efforts to inform you of any unavailability due to maintenance or updates. We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e.g. (but without limitation) in connection with any reorganization, restructuring, merger or sale, or other transfer of assets.

If we decide not to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms, such decision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Lastly, Dalmore The Quintet is said to have flavours of ‘exotic fruits drenched in maple syrup’, owing to its maturation in ex-moscatel, malmsey madeira, 30-year-old matusalem Sherry, 10-year-old Port and Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon casks.

Types of whisky

Palate: Flavors are abundant but too tame. It’s a nicely textured body with a lingering oiliness, but the result is more surface than substance. Loudest flavors are malty and citrus-y, with a surprising amount of grain and/or cereal. Almost blend-like at first, but it dissipates the longer it sits. A little dry sherry, chocolate, and more oranges as well. Nothing in the Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from gross negligence or willful misconduct by us.

The nose is soft, sweet and pretty grainy. A bit of oak. Quite some orangettes, faux-leahter, plums, berries, stone fruit, but also some grapefruit and fresh figs. Kiwi! Vanilla, caramel and a tiny bit of honey. Sound reasonably complex, but it is not. Not really. Know what I mean? Nice, but not devastatingly so.Regular readers of Malt will know that I am a fan of The Dalmore. When I am a fan of a distillery, I tend to be quite harsh on its whiskies, simply because I’m excited and expect a lot from it. I am a demanding fan. So you can take it I’m serious when I say the Dalmore King Alexander III is the best Dalmore I’ve tasted – and certainly one of the best whiskies I’ve bought this year. Nose: Very crisp and fresh. Oranges and vanilla at first, followed by…more oranges and vanilla. Large traces of burnt caramel and chocolate; small traces of melon and sweet pipe tobacco. It’s a nose calculated for effect, but it’s a nice effect, well-calculated. Far and away the best part of the experience.

The three no-age-statement Dalmore whiskies – The Trio, The Quartet and The Quintet – are said to have been inspired by the distillery’s King Alexander III expression, which is matured in six different cask types.
