About this deal

There are just so many of them. Again, and I say this as a painter, not a player. I’m bored painting 5 of the same units. don’t give me 20. Swampcalla Shaman with 1x Pot-grot: Even for Kruleboyz, Swampcalla Shamans are foul creatures. These spell-flingers have an innate connection to the mires they inhabit, which they channel into noisome spells of debilitation while brewing up vile elixirs to aid their green-skinned kin. The model comes supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round Base and a Citadel 25mm Round Slotta Base. As a result, battles fought solely with the Dominion box contents will favor the Stormcast unless you take some of the models out. This might seem odd until you remember that this isn’t supposed to be a stand-alone game. It’s an introductory set for the wider Age of Sigmar universe. Based on these foundations, it’ll be fascinating to see how Games Workshop redevelops other existing factions with these new rules. Where to Buy Waiting to greet you when you open Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Dominion is a bright mural of battle. Beneath it is sprue after sprue of plastic waiting to be clipped out, trimmed and glued together. When you’re done, you’ll have 58 of the finest plastic miniatures imaginable, enough to make two starter armies.

I think, expect one (not two) of these sprues to come in the AoS 3.0 Starter sets that follow Dominion. Warhammer Age of Sigmar Dominion – Sprue C – Knight-Arcanum Dominion as a box very much assumes you already have a working knowledge of the Age of Sigmar games. This box is aimed directly at AoS players and it wants to get you excited about Age of Sigmar 3rd Edition. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Dominion is the ultimate introduction to the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. This box has it all – armies of astonishing new miniatures, rich fiction introducing a new era in the Mortal Realms, and an expertly refined ruleset to support your epic battles on the tabletop. We’ve been dying to show you what’s inside, so let’s lift the lid. Conceptually, AOS factions have tended to go after original mash-ups, combining disparate concepts to make bizarre, but eye-catching hybrids (tree people, delusional ghouls, steampunk flying dwarfs, and so on). So far, though, the greenskins seem to have been left out of that. Underneath the lightweight card protector sheet are the sprues. 11 plastic frames of various sizes make up the factions in the set.

The new Thunderstrike Priest the Knight-Relictor is cheaper in cost. He has no built-in prayer on his warscroll but he does bring a new ability in that enemy Prayers and Invocations will not affect himself or friendly Stormcast wholly within 12” on a 4+ (rolled each time that unit would be affected). Monsters Building these chaps was easy enough. The sprue gates are put on sensible areas throughout. There is come clean up to be made on the odd curved surface. But it was nice to have all the gaps covered by sensible armour joins. Knight-Arcanum: Members of the mysterious Valedictor temple, Knights-Arcanum are unknowable but potent mages charged with protecting recovered ancient lore. The model comes supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round Base. And, like Indomitus, it contains some of the most fantastic-looking model sculpts ever created for its game – like, we’re talking staggering stuff. This set of six scenery pieces represents the trappings of a Dawnbringer Crusade settlement. Mark objectives during your games or use them to add some Era of the Beast spice to your games.

The only optional build on this sprue is model J (parts 1-9) which can be built as either a Gutrippa or Gutrippa Boss

WHAT ARE THE MODELS LIKE?

That’s 60 of the best models to ever grace a Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxed set, including a centrepiece leader for each side. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the armies included in Dominion.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Dominion review – a god-king’s

First off, great analysis of the boxset. I don’t play AoS, but the value of this product has me strongly considering getting into it, especially with the Stormcast Eternals looking more proportionate compared to their previous iterations. The new Orruks look fantastic too, and nail an aesthetic that I don’t think AoS really could boast about before. Killaboss on Great Gnashtoof: Particularly storied Killabosses can procure all manner of terrifying, swamp-dwelling mounts from the Beast-breakaz to show off their status. The model comes supplied with a Citadel 105mm Oval Base. This campaign continues the narrative of Amberstone Watch from Dominion and the three Starter Sets. The Auric Lions of the Thunderstrike Stormcast have reclaimed the town, but their position could be described as tentative at best. The Kruleboyz – led by the Killaboss Gazog – are regrouping and readying for war once more.

After Dominion

I’ve used darker hues to show the optional parts, e.g. dark red is the optional parts for a red model. If you wanted to get a look at the models from the Dominion Launch Box without a fancy paint job, we’ve got you covered. I’m splitting hairs here, but I’m a critic after all, and if this is my biggest complaint, well, that’s a good thing right?

What this leaves us with is a guide of random numerical sequences which gets more complicated as you go through and get to the models with multiple build configurations. The Lord-Imperatant is parts 1-11, with parts 5 & 6 being optional helmeted and unhelmeted heads. Part 12 is a base feature. The Primaris Chaplain Knight-Arcanum is another simple yet impressive model. Everything fit together relatively snug. Despite us likely referring to it as such below (several times) Dominion isn’t exactly a starter set in the true sense of the word. There’s no Dice, no Range Rulers, no Battle Matt.

DOMINION’S STORMCAST ETERNALS

Kruleboyz may be more cunning than most, but they’re still orruks at the end of the day. The fact they made this ridiculously massive crossbow is a fine example. Killbows are deadly to both large monsters and masses of foot troops, shooting straight through several at once. There’s nothing on this model you can paint in sub-assemblies. Parts like the inside of the robes do not look fun. Lord-Imperatant with Gryph-Hound Swampcalla Shaman and Pot-grot - The Swampcalla Shaman can summon mists that add one to the charge rolls of friendly units and subtract one from the charge rolls of enemy units, or they can give nearby friendly units a poison or elixir to boost their venom-encrusted weapons or raise their saves.
