The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II speakers come with plenty of connectivity options that enable users to make customized and powerful audio setups. The rear panel of the speakers are equipped with dual input terminals, which can be used for Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping. Through this, you can separate the high and low frequencies into each cable and add more power and clarity to the sound. It also has audiophile-grade wiring and aluminum binding posts that support almost any kind of connection type. This is why Spinorama was apparently groundbreaking news for audio industry. Hence in the mid-late 2010's, most brands and magazines began publishing Spinorama measurements, despite the challenges of making such measurements.

Really good balance of precision of instruments/vocalists in the soundstage while still having good horizontal dispersion (±50° to ±60°). That said, I did find the 600M II to be a bit bright at times, something I didn’t hear from the originals. I’ve heard others mention it, but to me, it wasn’t an issue in the 600s. On the other hand, when I listened to the 600M II on the Audiolab amp the highs were a little too elevated for my taste.

The On-axis Frequency Response (0°) is the universal starting point and in many situations it is a fair representation of the first sound to arrive at a listener’s ears. The V2’s soundstage gets another upgrade over the older 600M. There is terrific dispersion left to right and top to bottom. Seriously, this speaker is pretty great off axis, which includes vertically as well. There is very little, if any, change in tone or timbre when seated vs standing. Those of you with stadium-like seating in your home theaters should take note. Center imaging is terrific, though I achieved slightly better focus with some subtle toe-in. Detail throughout is excellent as the new 600Ms have ZERO issues aurally disappearing within your room. compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters The source code under Pierre Aubert's work is licensed under GPL (General public license). He didn't perform any of the measurements himself, and instead he compiled all of them into one place, so that makes sense.

Overview of the RP-600M II

The product is returned in original condition (with brand’s/manufacturer's box, MRP tag intact, user Klipsch RP-600M II spekaers replace the RP-600M and improve on an already excellent bookshelf model, a larger alternative to the RP-500M II. The treble is definitely brighter and those who are sensitive to a more aggressive top end might not agree with my assessment. The imaging is far superior to the older model and that contributed to my enjoyment of the loudspeakers in a significant way. Switching up to Musical Fidelity’s M2si proved to be the sweet-spot pairing though. A little more body, notes more rounded out than through the Marantz. And a fabulously wide and deep soundstage. A signature feature on the Reference Premiere series, Cerametallic™ woofers are exceptionally rigid and lightweight for minimal distortion and maximum efficiency. New aluminum shorting rings reduce distortion as well as increased power handling and the new motor structure improve transit response with more control with greater speed and accuracy. The Cerametallic woofer on these speakers is also of great quality. While it is lightweight, it is crafted to be rigid to makes sure that the audio fidelity is preserved over time. It also comes with a 70% larger voice coil for better power handling and improved linearity. Not only that, its aluminum shorting rings also contribute to the improved power handling and lower distortion. Getting the RP-600Ms to serve up their full menu of pleasures required positioning them with care. The speakers' off-axis response delivered a sweet spot at least two people wide, and generated satisfying instrumental tone everywhere in my room. At 10' from the front wall in Sphere's room, the RP-600Ms' tonal character leaned toward lean, but so what? They made a mile-deep soundstage. In my room, moving them 3' from the front wall reduced soundstage depth by at least 50%, but the bass and lower midrange were fuller—more to my liking. I also discovered that each inch I moved them farther from or closer to the front wall changed their tonal balance. With the Klipsches only 66" apart and 75" from my ears, their front baffles precisely 29" from the wall behind them, and no toe-in, the weight and timbre of Alexander Melnikov's piano as he performed Book 2 of Debussy's Préludes (24-bit/96kHz FLAC, Harmonia Mundi/Qobuz) was just right for me.This is a problem because it means that Spinorama alone, unfortunately, won't give us all we need. Placement and reflections play an equally important role there too.

Semyon Bychkov’s newly released Mahler 1 with the Czech Philharmonic is a superb recording coupled to one of the best readings I’ve heard. The M2si and RP-600M II laid it all out in front of me in a huge soundstage. The music was expansive, explosive, stirring; goosebumps abounded. As with the best systems, analysis fell by the wayside as the music gripped me.
