Well written, stunning pictures, and lots of good information and tips on not only the bothies themselves but also what to bring/pack for your journey which I found extremely useful. to know there is a bothy in the middle of Knoydart is interesting, but i would have liked pinpoint maps showing paths and approaches etc, rather than just a grid ref. Rich in knowledge and information that reflects Allan's wealth of bothying experience, The Scottish Bothy Bible is the essential guide to wild adventure living.Trained as a surveyor, he is a professional photographer and maintenance officer for an MBA bothy on the Isle of Rum. I'm sure it will be of use to the adventurous as, even though I'm not a hiker/mountaineer, it seems to have vital information I would have thought necessary for each Bothy: size (rooms, sleeping numbers), map lat/long location (plus indicative maps), fuel/water supply (do you need to take any etc) key local attractions, public transport, special notes about access/restrictions, different routes to each (parking, distance from and time of walk, terrain).
