Your instructor will welcome you and you will then spend the morning identifying, describing and collecting a selection of native, wild, medicinal plants from around our stunning 250 acre woodland. She qualified at the Selfheal School, under Dr Jill Davies and Christopher Hobbs, and is a Council member of the Association of Master Herbalists (AMH) and editor of its quarterly magazine, Nature s Path. It is richly illustrated and is a complete guide to the preparation and preservation of the many plants that are abundant in the British countryside. Hedgerow Medicine offers clear instruction on which plants to harvest, and when, and details over 120 recipes, showing how to make them into teas, vinegars, oils, creams, pillows, poultices or tinctures.

Beautiful photos and drawings abound, and I can see this is going to be a well loved book, thank you, I'm very happy and will recommend it to friends and family alike. This is a well-illustrated and informative book for those interested in foraging and gathering wild hedgerow plants and putting them to use. Having read this book I find I walk in the countryside with new eyes and a far keener sense of observation, nibbling leaves and gathering seeds as I go. Parkinson (1567–1650) was the official herbalist to King Charles I, a renowned gardener and London apothecary. I just looked through the reviews for this book and saw that someone else mentioned Grow Your Own Drugs).

Courses are held at my eco home in rural Herefordshire and run throughout the year, using seasonal herbs, for example, elecampane root for syrup in the autumn and winter, marigolds for infused oil in summer.
