About this deal

Build quality is the best I've come across,Maxon were the original manufacturer of the Ibanez 9 range and these are better built than current Ibanez ..... The OD808 has the traditional buffers, however Maxon has deviated from the 808 formula by changing the two output resistors to reduce noise levels. The result is that the new values make the OD808 electronically identical to an original TS9, rather than a TS808. The sound quality is fantastic, although the pedals respcte the sound of the guitar and the ampli.Je used with a Start to find the sounds of SRV, if not with a 335 to "scream "The PAF or with a telecaster riffs to make way Keith Richards.Bref this is not one like the other pedals, that is THE essential pedals.

The TOD takes the classic OD-9 overdrive circuit and adds a mil-spec 5703WB JAN Raytheon sub-miniature vacuum tube positioned at the front of the audio path, driving the OD-9 circuit. AC/DC Power Operation - Power using 9-volt battery (supplied) or AC adapter (Maxon AC210N optional).

What OverDrive IS used however for .... I use this in cooperation with the distorted channel of my amp, to give my guitar signal a bit of a boost. Much like a compressor, it also gives your playing more edge and sustain, and you don't have to hit the strings as hard as to get that kind of a sound otherwise. The TOD-9 features internal voltage doublers that bump the incoming 9 VDC up to 30 VDC for stable tone with low distortion and increased headroom.

The OD-9 Pro Plus's new circuit uses different output resistors than its predecessor. After the unit's initial release it was discovered to have a high susceptibility to noise due to static electricity buildup. To improve performance, the values of the output resistors on the OD-9 were increased, but their positions kept the same as the original. This circuit change has no audible affect on the sound of the unit, save for reducing unwanted noise levels. In addition, the OD-9 features True Bypass Switching for natural, uncompromised tone in bypass. Coupled with a Proco Rat 2 for a combo / overdrive-distortion, it's just magical, harmonious and "get into it". The sound of the Maxon OD-9 is very transparent and doesn't alter the tone of your amplifier that much (the Tone option does very little but adds some small colour to your sound) which is actually perfect for an OverDrive pedal. To stop blablatages the OD9 Maxon is a replica of the same original TS9 Ibanez, simply because it was manufactured by Maxon. The Ibanez TS9 today have nothing to do, so they are the pale copies. Three knobs and a switch has contrler should go for the most experienced pedal (almost) in the world.

This Limited Edition OD-9 might have had a glow up but underneath it's still the same iconic sound we all know and love owing to the original Japanese JRC4558 IC chip. With a throaty midrange bump, smooth compression and a tight low end that works for anything from the classic Texas blues tone to tightening up your crushing high gain sounds. Everything said about this legendary t overdrive in my case it's hand through Santana much more experienced era in the 80's I discovered this pedal. It was only later that I discovered that Stevie Ray Vaughan was also used. While the Maxon OD-9 is true bypass, the input and output buffers are retained. So it has a vintage-correct circuit, but the buffers are only in the signal path when the pedal is switched on. Die Cast Zinc Chassis - Ergonomic design protects controls while providing easy switching access. Rubber bottom pad prevents accidental movement while in use. Everything has been said about this legendary overdrive in my case it's hand through Santana much better known at the time in the 80's that I discovered this pedal.
