Maximus takes up the most pieces and he makes for an impressive model compared to the other, comparatively simple LEGOLAND sets that are also available. Whilst the LEGOLAND builds tend to offer a facade representing an attraction and a functional version of the ride for minifigures, Maximus makes it clear that this is a different kind of LEGOLAND set for a more experienced audience. However, it won’t alienate builders of all ages – it might just take them longer to put together.

Put simply, this was the obvious choice for 40556 Mythica and it’s executed in a way that feels fundamentally different from other LEGOLAND sets while still being approachable for anyone to build. Their simple design makes them easily interchangeable with other minifigures from LEGOLAND sets, or any that take your fancy, though they’re not exactly a major selling point for 40556 Mythica. — LEGO 40556 Mythica price —

Two minifigures are included as well though, representing a pair of younger guests visiting and exploring MYTHICA. There’s nothing particularly special about these characters, though the boy does include a double-sided face to express his amazement at the creatures he sees. Much of the builds in 40556 Mythica are characters in their own right, and the models are great representations of them, with Maximus featuring the same commanding presence as at the parks and Bits and Bobs being considerably more colourful and fun-loving. As impressive as the build of 40556 Mythica is compared to other LEGOLAND sets, its appeal can only go so far since it’s based on a property that only physically exists at one theme park. For those visiting LEGOLAND Windsor, it joins the many other models that commemorate your day depending on your favourite ride. It’s also harder to fit it in with the rest, since it doesn’t include a smaller depiction of an attraction but recreates the characters and creatures of MYTHICA instead. The different parts of the set offer not only a fun build experience but a nice slice of what the land of MYTHICA has to offer as well. Finally, the set features two minifigures kids. They are both made from commonly available parts so nothing too exciting but I do like the ‘amazed’ face used for the boy. They might not be too exciting but the appeal of the set is buildable elements, not the minifigures however, it’s nice to have someone to explore the realm.Unveiling the name in a video shared across LEGOLAND Windsor’s social media channels, the latest tease reveals a mythical portal to another world opening for the first time. In a hint to the creatures that families may find in this parallel universe, huge footprints shake the Resort, a winged shadow flies overhead and the 30 second film ends with an ice storm engulfing LEGOLAND Windsor’s iconic entrance.

Opening in spring 2021, LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures will feature thrilling new attractions and experiences, including a never-before-seen UK ride. LEGO MYTHICA was introduced to LEGOLAND Windsor Resort in 2021 where it became the first new IP to be created especially for LEGOLAND. Up to that point most areas of the park, as well as those found in other parks, were inspired by various LEGO themes such as LEGO City, LEGO Friends and NINJAGO. The area where MYTHICA now sits was originally intended to be The LEGO Movie Land, but the theming was changed during development and MYTHICA was born. The concept is simple and very much in the spirit of LEGO building, so it’s a parallel realm filled with magical creatures. Although some of the creatures look familiar they are actually blends of multiple animals. The two most famous are Maximus the Sky Lion and the miniature Alicorn, Bitsandbobs.
